Simon, I understand that fresh horse manure that has not been well rotted pulls nitrogen from the soil, essential to any plant life. Cow manure is preferable to horse manure - it is a good soil improver and contains high levels of nutrients. It is, however, rather wet to handle! There is always a tetanus threat in manure if not handled properly. |
