I agree that police need to police - but why do they need to ride on the pavement? Why can't they carry a small shovel and move the manure if it is obviously in a place likely to cause a nuisance as this clearly was? Anyone who has ever ridden knows that you know when your horse is excreting - there is no way they did not know their horse was doing it there. Dog poo should be removed in such an area, but this covered about 2m or more of pavement and bus passengers were left to wait with a steaming heap! Basic manners would have dictated the courtesy to remove it but if it is an offence to ride a bicycle on the pavement, why weren't the police on the road there? One law for the law and another for the people and no crime was stopped by them being on the pavement mid afternoon. |
