Anyone who would like to have an input into the future planning policies for Putney and the wider borough can participate in the six week public consultation now underway for the Borough’s core planning strategy – the Local Development Framework.  It covers the policies for our town centres, the riverside, new homes, affordable housing, design and townscape, sustainable design and renewable energy, locations for industry and waste management, transport network, open space, community services and other topics.

The draft Core Strategy is available online (planning section at www.wandsworth.gov.uk) where responses can be made.  Copies of the strategy and response forms are available in local libraries or call Technical Services 020 8871 6649/6650.

Two public consultation meetings take place on two of Thamesfield’s Conservation Areas in October.

18th October: Parkfields (and Coalecroft Road in West Putney) CA in Putney Leisure Centre.

30th October: Oxford Road CA in Putney Library.

Special architectural features and streetscape in conservation areas are protected. The existing conservation area character statements which identify special features can be downloaded from the Council’s website.

Grants are available for restoration of the streetscape in a conservation area.

Cllr Rosemary Torrington
Thamesfield Ward
