Hello Steven,

Maria Machado never sought to become president.  She always supported and fought for the 2024 presidential candidate Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia, who supposedly won the elections but was blocked by Maduro. 

Trump's "dislike" of her is mainly because she received the Nobel Peace Prize 2025 and not him.

It would not surprise me if Trump declares Venezuela a non self-governing body, which, for all intents and purposes, he already has.  The main reason for this is oil, of course.
