You're very good at digging out facts on matters like this. How many of those 'kept out of the job market' have a genuine physical or acute mental health illness or how many are too fat or suffering from 'anxiety' such that they can't work ? Its not medical diagnosis that will determine this but a much tighter and restricted welfare payments system that will force people to work rather than live on the state (ie taxpayers like you and me). Junior doctors (or whatever they call themselves these days) are not poorly paid when you also take into account their very generous final salary guaranteed pension entitlement. And they have just had a 28% pay rise ! Consultants are on c.£100K pa. GPs are effectively self-employed and earn I believe £100K  pretty much on a per diem contract. Which is why the job is so appealing for women who can pick the days they want to work. As regards foreign doctors leaving because of poor pay, are they likely to earn more in India or the Middle east ? And as for training more British nurses, that is a challenge Wes Streeting should put his mind to rather than trying to replace 'Never here Kier Starmer' however we might all benefit from the fact.
