Trumps latest sanctions seem to be having an impact. Possibly on the UK that is. For the last few years oil imports from Russia have largely been replaced by the well known Opec member - India. It looks like the UK is finally weaning itself off cheap Indian oil or perhaps the economy is just slowing down and so is demand?? Wars are not all about oil or gas although it may sometimes seem that way. It's just a jolly good job that the people that bang the drums for decades have prepared the UK well when it comes to our own energy security. It is just very odd that it is the same people that support closing the UK fossil fuel industries down whilst we still have a need to import the stuff. But oddly seem to think it's ok to import from the US (or India if you keep one eye shut!). I guess the US will get the stuff quite cheaply from Venezuela so that will be all be fine. Perhaps we can get cheap gas from Gaza? Didn't BP sign a deal?? When it comes to war we must of course remember the US presidents (Dem & Rep) that were entitled to be excluded from being inscripted. We must not for get that in corrupt countries such as Ukraine and Russia those with money can flee to skii slopes and sandy far away beeches. Perhaps if you are not as quite so rich you can pay the bribe to be excluded although it seems inflation is making it more costly. From starmer/Blair to Putin or von der Leyen you can bet there kids will be on those dangerous ski slopes and beaches!
