What is more, future deals will be worse than this one. Do you think the Gaza deal was good for Palestinians? Do you think the Palestinians should have fought on? I think you are confusing wishful thinking with the realities of war and military defeat. Many Irish have a lot of sympathy with Ukraine as they see similarities between Russian and British Imperialism. History as we have seen in Northern Ireland does not solve conflicts. Your post reminds me of the view many held just before Afghanistan fell to the Taliban after a twenty year war. Where again corruption, gold toilets too I seem to recall, were part of the reasons for collapse. "I suspect they will choose to fight on" I suspect they will fight on too but choice may not be an option for most. Including old men and school boys kidnapped off the streets and sent to the front with little or no training - anti-retreating troops deployed at the rear to shoot their own! The number of dead and wounded on each side is disputed but numbers being reported is shocking. I suspect it will be several years before a consensus is reached.
