"I think the LTNs got a bad name because of experience, including the ones in Fulham. " Fulham is a very bad example because it is not a LTN - it is borough wide not local. Any resident of Hammersmith and Fulham can drive through it. The LTN apostles have adopted it as an LTN but it meets none of the LTN requirements. But that won't stop them preaching that the whole of H&F is one local area. By the same warped logic we could argue that London is now a LTN with 20mph speed limits on most of its roads. H&F residents want to drive through our 20 mph roads unrestricted. It may be worth asking WBC Labour Councillors why they have not implement the same policy as H&F if it is such a good policy? |
