Hello Richard, As you know, I am very much against LTNs; I have experienced one and it was beyond horrible. The problem is not the speed limit on roads, it is the lack of enforcement. Another big problem that we have is the ridiculous redisgn of the access to Putney Bridge. The tailsbacks, at times, go all the way up Putney Hill, virtually the whole length of Lower Richmond Road as well as Upper Richmond Road and Putney Bridge Road. The solution is to tackle the cause and not the effect. I hear you say there are far too many vehicles on the road. True. But they are not all from Putney. It is not Putney or Wandsworth residents that go out purposely to create havoc, cars come from further, much further far afield. But the solution is not closing roads (if it is, close the A3!). Traffic should be allowed to flow, then you would not have "rat runners". Do you, by the way, resent your neighbours using your road? Do you resent delivery vans using your road to deliver goods to your neighbours? |
