The link shows that public transport is very poor the further you go out. Which is what everyone that lives in the real world already knew. Yet the ULEZ expansion to the whole of London rather than expanding the congestion charge to inner London was the policy the Mayor and his supports pushed. End result is: We still have congestions in inner London Public transport in Outer London is still poor Those that can least afford have been taxed more Economic activity in outer London has decreased Middle class ULEZ warriors still refuse to support transport resources being diverted from inner London to outer London. Regressive taxes and unaffair allocations of resources tend to lead to increase social unrest and more conflict & crime which is what we are seeing. Millions wasted on scrappage. Millions wasted on cameras & equipment. Millions wasted on more policing. Millions wasted on court enforcement. Just think what actual public transport that money could have provided! |
