| Boris doesn't really care that much either way about a third runway but opposing it puts 5 or 6 south west and west London MPs in his camp so increases his chance of being party leader. Cameron played the same trick in 2010 when he calculated opposition to the 3rd Runway would give him three or four more seats in what was bound to be a tight election knowing full well that airport expansion in London has to happen at some point. Don't think principles with these Tory spiv boys, always consider what furthers their personal interest and that will tell you what policies they will adopt. |
