Fair enough that Cameron is buying flexibility by moving Greening. Given her meteorite rise to Transport and staying in Cabinet, a step aside to Int Dev should be seen as such. Greening has well represented Putney against 3rd Runway. Should we punish Tories if they reverse 3rd runway policy? Not sure what would be alternative? Labour against? Lib Dems are no alternative. Projections of increased air traffic are pies in sky if you ask me? Hiking fuel duties for non-essential traffic (tourism) would go a long way in dampening demand for flights. Building windmill parks and at same time expanding airports? Just too crazy for words.... |
