| Steven 'Michael, the August poll suggests that support for Hamas on the West Bank has fallen fron 66% to 45%. Do you really believe that an ordinary Israeli is going to say, 'last year two thirds of Palestinians supported a terrorist group that wants to kill me but now it's only about a half, so a two atate solution is fine'?' Mr Brigo is sufficiently prejudiced against the existence of Israel that he probably would make such a claim. And there would have to be a three state solution with Israel as Gaza is ruled by Hamas and the West Bank ruled by the Palestinian Authority, groups that hate each others guts. And history shows that typical of Arab groups in the region, they will never reconcile. In my view, Israel must simply rigorously patrol and be prepared to defend its borders whilst within them carry on with the fine western style life it currently leads. And not worry too much about what Burnham and Miliband have to say on the issue. Puffed up Geo-political pygmies. |
