| It's pure virtue signalling. Personally I have never supported the settlements on the West Bank (pre 1967 Jordanian territory) but the UK government's decision will affect Palestinians in the West Bank as well as Israelis. Who and how will the goods be differentiated? As far as taking this further by banning goods from Israel itself, the UK would just shoot itself in the foot as we rely on many Israeli innovations as well as security information. But let's not lose any more parliamentary seats to prospective MPs e.g. Independents and Greens who campaign more about Gaza instead of UK issues. |
