| Michael, you really are rude without reason. I originally said the latest polling evidence evidence suggests that the leader of Hamas would get almost twice as many votes as President Abbas if there were an election on the West Bank. You contradicted this by quoting the results of local elections last April where Abbas won a majority of contested seats. Without responding directly to your jibe that I am 'not across the facts', I simply gave further details of the poll conducted in August, mentioning the Palestinian polling organisation by name, on which my original comment was based. This poll confirms that 26% would vote for Al-Hiyyah while only 14% would vote for Abbas (i.e. almost 2:1). Rather than admit that my original comment was factually based, you then accused me of never bothering to publish my sources, which is untrue since I named the source in this case (the Palestinian Center for for Policy and Survey Research), and then you suggested I wouldn't bother to read the results of the poll, which is also untrue since I have read them. Why not cut out the absurdly vituperative comments and debate politely? Would you not agree that the August poll explains why so many Israelis fear the creation of an independent state on the West Bank? |
