Yes, Andy; although I'm very pleased to see Fleur Anderson reelected with a large majority this is about confidence in the results. It may be poor practice or incompetence, or just one of those IT errors that happen because of collective human mistakes. It's important to get to the cause and put in corrective controls so that it doesn't occur again or elsewhere. It's shouldn't be a political issue. As I said in another post, I could put together a case that the Crowdstrike error shows capitalism doesn't work (particularly as apparently they've had issues previously with a couple of Linux versions where data centre servers have been "bricked" - so non Microsoft users shouldn't be too smug) but that wouldn't help things. (And I wouldn't want to put any of my IT, Infosec or Cybersec friends out of a job :-)) |
