As the boxes arrive from each polling station they are emptied and simply counted and tallied with the list from that station of ballot papers issued. Hence very simple at the end to add thise lists together and compare with the total votes counted. Postal votes are treated as another'polling station'. Some boroughs sort them into candidate bundles during the evening before the main boxes arrive. It's all such a simple process it beggars belief that they could get it so wrong. |
