The point is, if I'm correct, that the voting slips all have a reference number that's recorded against the voter's ID number. If there's a suggestion of fraud then that provides an audit trail. My understanding is that can only be activated by a court order to ensure ballot confidentiality is maintained in normal circumstances. I'm sure Andy can confirm if I'm correct? I don't think that audit facility would be so easy to achieve with coloured counters,would it? |
