When buses were more open there were claims of a lot of fare dodging. When travelling by bus is free too many who could and should walk for their health - don't. One of those travel tickets - the over 60s pass - was a pre-election present from Boris Johnson Bendy buses much loved by some came and went.  Too long and unable to turn corners in our narrow streets they were not loved by many either. The Heatherwick bus was too hot and had to have AC added. Many people are bigger - including taller - so not enough space between knees. My last bus trip to Kew Gardens was not on a hot day and sitting on the engine at the back was hotter than I would ever choose again! Where are the best buses?
