Following-up on Martine's original post, it was obviously wrong to be abusive to the driver - he was only doing his job and sounds like he was trying to be helpful. Not his fault if demand outstrips supply, it's the government restricting TfL funding. Of course people resort to bad language for various reasons: some are just obnoxious, some have just reached breaking point, others just have a poor command of the English language or don't differentiate swear words well (a fellow Iraqi post graduate student in my telecoms course would use the f-word liberally when discussing politics in the pub) and I've been in meetings with senior company directors who use the f-word to emphasise a point - as did the PM when showing his distain for business! But bus drivers don't deserve abuse … |
