Justine Greening took the seat from Tony Colman, who had held it for Labour for eight years, in 2005 and has steadily increased her majority since. That she has done so, and indeed has risen through the Party to her present post of Secretary of State for Education, is due in no small part to her sheer hard work and no-nonsense approach. Suggestions that she would not hold Putney were it a marginal are nonsense, it is largely through her efforts that it is not. I feel privileged to have her as my MP. |
