Really? I thought the people we elect to be our representatives do so to serve their constituents, rather than feather their own nests. The Richmond residents will be without an MP for a relatively short time. We need as many MPs who are against this disastrous decision to stand up and be counted. It's not a hissy fit. He is doing what he said he would do. Sounds pretty principled to me. Justine, a pretty mediocre minister in a number of portfolios, is not "helping her constituents" by failing to speak out. She should be. As I said earlier she could stay on as an MP but resign as a cabinet member, although having a by-election would be better. An MP earns a pretty reasonable salary, so I'm sure she won't need to queue at the increasing number of food banks. Nick |
