| The 485 will not replace the 424 due to the fact the 485 has a longer wheel base & can't make the turn into Chartfield Avenue. Many elderly people use the bus who will find it hard otherwise, it is at least a five minute walk from the roads served to a bus stop. The Sands End part of the 424 bus route will no longer serve a Shelterd Housing estate again making life hard for those not as young or ambulatory as most of the readers who object to the changes seem to be. There is a petition against these changes. These changes will serve private developments so why should TFL be changing things to suit them if it wasn't for pressure from WBC who have given this development priority over existing services. Like moving the library & spending millions on the Arndale estate attracting lessees rather than tenants. |
