Forced in to travelling?? I very much doubt it. I am also a public sector worker so am feeling the tightening of the screws as we speak... However, there's no denying the fact that the usual travellers are not a delight to have as neighbours. I am not rich, I work long hours but I still pay my bills and have never had to resort to that way of life - I do not class myself as more fortunate than others. Do not romanticise the 'travelling way of life' they are not fleeing war or religious persecution. They don't usually have ways of making a living that could be described as legal, and they usually don't respect their surroundings or the people who live in the area permanently. You could go and ask them about their circumstances and then let us all know what they say... |
