| Sorry I haven't read the full thread. But Sue, while I agree that Burnham is obsessive about shunting money 'up north' even more than is currently happening, the Government that has exempted the standard council tax referendum cap was Keir Starmer's and it was announced in December 2025. I suggest we write to Fleur Anderson to ask how we are expected to fund 100% increase in our council tax particularly when we are on low and/or fixed incomes. In today's Putney News there is a long interview with Malcolm Grimston including his take on this subject (and he has written to his West Hill constituents about it). He explains there why the increase can't be staggered. |
