| Mr Ixer 'Not only do the Gulf States have lots of silicon, they also have lots of money, and not only can that buy in expertise it can also buy education and knowledge from the best schools and universities in the the West, as it has been doing for several decades'. Unearned income. To what global benefit have they put this bought in education and knowledge ? To misquote Monty Python "What have the Arabs done for us" ? Answer - "Pushed up house prices in Knightsbridge" ! The Israelis on the other hand have lead the way in bio-medical research, techno-innovation, finance, popular and 'high brow' culture... |
