Just closing your eyes to the successes of the Islamic states won't make them go away.  They can afford to experiment with new technologies and employ British and other notable worldwide foreign companies while doing so moving new technologies for coping with living in an increasingly hot world.  Meanwhile we are still failing here to deal with insulating and ventilating ie weatherproofing the historical homes so many people live in because we haven't trained enough people to do it, and we have short-sightedly sold our outdated and expensive to maintain utilities to a system run by people who are more interested in making money out of them than maintaining a system for the future. https://www.smartcitiesdive.com/ex/sustainablecitiescollective/ground-sustainable-city/255596/
