The other thing to consider is there is I believe no specific offence if a vehicle in traffic blocks a pedestrian crossing. Yellow boxes, bicycle boxes yes, but not the actual crossing. The yellow box at the junction together with the traffic light sequencing (not to mention the poorly signed and not inforced left turn only lane on PHS into Norroy Road) actually encourages the crossing to be blocked.
