| The way that I have seen drivers driving more recently has meant that I have really been questioning whether traffic lights were really actually safer than zebra crossings. I have seen and heard so many cars being raced to get through the lights before they change and mopeds and cycles being raced to overtake queues of cars stopped at lights. These road users are fixating on the high level traffic lights. Little or no thought is being given to the most vulnerable road users - pedestrians - actually waiting at the side on the road and oftenout of sight and depending on the lights changing so they can cross. |
