'Populist fools.'

I think 'populist' or 'populism' is just a term used pejoratively by the arrogant and self-declared intellectually superior people in society to describe large swaths of the population and their views with which they disagree.

A dictionary definition of 'populist' is - "a person, especially a politician, who strives to appeal to ordinary people who feel that their concerns are disregarded by established elite groups'.

Do you think it intrinsically wrong that politicians should behave in this way towards such a group of the population ?

Do you think that such people even exist ?

If you do think it wrong politicians should seek to serve such people that is fine.

If it puts the 'popular' into politics is that not a good thing for democracy ?

If you disagree, just say so.

But in which case do you not support any populist causes ?
