Ms Guy

' The officer walks alongside the wagon to ensure the driver and two refuse collectors safely navigate the streets”.

I do hope he is carrying a red flag as was the case in the days of the first railways !

But have the union not thought how dangerous this job is ?

Should there not also be someone walking alongside this officer to enhance his safety ?

"Great fleas have little fleas upon their backs to bite 'em, And little fleas have lesser fleas, and so ad infinitum. And the great fleas themselves, in turn, have greater fleas to go on; While these again have greater still, and greater still, and so on." This is a quote by Jonathan Swift from 1732.

Fleas probably quite a problem in rat infested Birmingham !
