Southfields was upgraded prior to the 2012 Olympics as tennis events were going to be held at Wimbledon so I don't know if there was additional findings from outside of TfL. Additionally, it will be more expensive than Southfields which has an "island" platform so only requires one lift whereas the platform arrangement at East Putney means two lifts are required. I don't hold out much hope for improved access in the near future unless there's a change in funding for TfL :-( (An obvious way would be to increase fuel tax for ICE sars to fund public transport more attractive to use but I can't see that being popular.) Putney Bridge is station is in Fulham so I'm unclear what's happening there. |
