A wunch of Tories should have shown this chap where the franking (not cockney rhyming slang) machine was. Five thousand smackers is an awful lot of money spent on stamps. As Leader of the Council surely Mr Govindia should give some explanation when one his team has misbehaved? Perhaps he is too busy with his other job as Director of Volcanoes Safaris. Bespoke (and very expensive) Gorilla Watching in Uganda, from where Mr Govindia fled the despotic regime of Idi Amin. Volcanoes Safaris is proud not only of supporting the great apes from whom it derives a great deal of money, but schools as well. The Financial Times magazine, "How to spend it" 2nd November page 45, predicts a rush on bookings to Mount Gahinga Lodge in Uganda. Gahinga is the creation of Praveen Moman, friend and colleague of Mr Govindia. A six-day safari only costs $4,726 per person. A shame that we do not hear more of Mr Govindia in the boring old Wandsworth Guardian, and that his concern for wildlife was not extended to the badgers on Elliott's playing fields. |
