Hi Adam I am certainly not trying to impose my views on anyone else so can you tell me where in my post you think I am saying that please? The turmoil I refer to is purely legislative but as you say this will be ironed out in due course but already it is causing much consternation within the English and Anglian churches and whether you are religious (or not) this upheaval cannot be ignored. However the Marriage(Same-Sex Couples)Bill states that the change will not be forced on religious organisations - they will have to "opt in" to holding ceremonies if they want to hold gay weddings. The bill also specifies that the Church of England and Church in Wales would be banned in law from offering same-sex marriages. The legal ban may have the effect of protecting the Church of England from legal claims that as the Established Church it is bound to marry anyone who requests it. Clear as mud to me and already I see an equalties storm brewing and much confusion over who is opting in and who can legally opt out.  When civil partnerships legislation was first introduced yes I did support it Adam because it made sense to give sam e sex partnerships the same legal and financial protection as any other couple who decide to share their lives with each other.  As for your last question about married couples feeling less married and the degradation or tarnishing of marriage vows that is all ridiculous nonsense and sounds slightly hysterical frankly. I can assure you that I have no interest whatsoever in how other people (straight or gay)wish to live their lives but for me marriage is the union between a woman and a man and always will be. Simples.
