Sue, Like you I am a dog lover. I made enquiries as soon as I heard that the dog and the beggar were being parted. I was advised that medically the dog was not in good condition and needed vetinary care. I deliberately did not ask where the police pound is (the address is kept private to keep it secure) although I understand that it is in the country. Whilst there Luke will have the best possible care, which will not include sitting still for hours on end outside of the Nat West Bank. Ultimately the future for Luke will lie in the hands of the Courts (what if the beggar, who has something of a 'past', is sent to prison?). However it is my understanding that animals only become the subject of destruction orders if they are ill and in pain or dangerous. I reiterate the beggar could not have been missing Luke that much, the second time that he was arrested he was using a borrowed dog as a prop. |
