They've taken 2 storeys off, which I guess you could say is an improvement, but 13 storeys is still way too high. What annoys me every time though, is the different computer-generated viewpoints they give you. Have a look at: http://www.77-83urr.co.uk/index.cfm?articleID=1 and check camera view 3. In that image you can see the Swish building in front of the new development. The Swish building is about 8-9 storeys high. The new proposed building will therefore be 4-5 storeys higher (50% higher!), but somehow they managed to create a computer image that doesn't quite show that big a difference and therefore doesn't really show the impact of the high buildings. The developers for Putney Place did exactly the same in their proposals. It seems this is common practice; to what extent are developers allowed to give their own interpretation to these images, rather than representing the actual impact of their developments? |
