Orwell may have been complex but he was certainly on the button in his perception of his fellow countrymen who could not see, or chose not to see, what Russia was up to and in fits of sanctimonious and self-proclaimed intellectual superiority placed that country's beliefs and aims above those of their homeland.

Just like some Britons today who decry their own country and march in support of an alien group and religion that have no affinity to our way of life.

I would have hoped I would have believed if I had known, that any group of racist fascists like the Nazis, having a doctrine and desire, as does Hamas and its many Palestinian, Arab and other fellow travellers, of obliterating the Jewish race, should be strongly resisted by force if necessary.

Now I am not saying this was known in the '30s and was the reason we resisted Hitler and Nazi Germany.

However today we do know that many Arab countries in the Middle East have exactly this aim, for example the al-Assad family oligarchy in Syria and the Islamic theocratic state of Iran plus its surrogates Hezbollah in Lebanon.

So we have no reason to doubt which Islamic terrorist groups and countries we need to be wary of and be prepared to resist.
