Yes, it's great that the vaccines are working effectively and reduce the number of hospitalisations so controls can be relaxed. Testing, with genomic sequencing, will still be required to check for new variants, incubated in the unvaccinated, which will continue to be a threat to everyone, and which may required modified vaccines to provide protection. (Just as happens with influenza. And keep in mind large proportion the world's population doesn't have access to the vaccines they need.) Masks may continue to be a term of carriage for TfL, and a contractual condition elsewhere (such as some theatres). |
