Don't we all know that is where there are problems with our divided party political parties and where if we want better we should be looking to making changes to our parliamentary system to avoid the rabid power clinging and political ping-pong that we have with the system. Everybody wants superb services AND low taxes. Why wouldn't they? But don't we also want a safety net if and when things go wrong for us? Isn't Wandsworth supposed to be a flagship or the flagship Tory Council? Weren't there some quiet negotiations when Wandsworth said that austerity was hurting services? After all there are Tories too who say that the austerity measures have gone on too long now. The cuts continue despite Mrs May's announcement that austerity is at an end. The platitudes also just continue... This is interesting: https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/staggers/2019/04/government-has-cut-more-poor-labour-councils-rich-tory-ones-and-it-shows |
