Bunny, I'm certainly not arguing that all car use should be stopped (and we drive to Wiltshire, too, sometimes!) but that usage needs to be reduced. TfL find that over a third of all the car trips made by London residents are shorter than 2km; 1.6 million car trips per day could potentially be walked, and 2.7 million per day could be cycled. That gives an idea of the extent to which change could be made. |
