The two most popular schools in Southfields are St Michaels and Sheringdale. Wandsworth have already expanded the intake to two classes at St Michaels, and are building new buildings for them. The (posh) portakabins that St Michaels will no longer need are being given to Sheringdale so that they can expand their intake to two classes for one year only. This single extra class will then pass through the school. The preparations for this are causing lots of extra work for staff and governors. I think the council are reacting quite well to what seems to be a short-term increase in young children. |
