Yes, Ms Guy, this was also found to have been common amongst the grooming gangs' victims by the UK's various inquiries. "Evidence from multiple independent inquiries and investigations confirms that a vast number of young women and girls abused by grooming gangs were too frightened or disempowered to come forward. The scale of the abuse was often hidden because victims were intimidated, distrusted authority, or were blamed for their own abuse." |
