| I hardly think, Gerry, you are in a position to pose as a fair-minded commentator on the issue of Palestine, opposed to ‘myopic’ and ‘one-sided’ arguments and urging ‘discussion’ and ‘peace’, when you have just called me a ‘screwed up psycho killer’ and made a hysterical accusation of genocide against Israel which has no basis in fact and which is not supported by the British government. For the record, I am not a fan of Netanyahu and I am not in the ‘Israel can do no wrong’ camp. I have said many times that I think the IDF have been reckless at times in their efforts to eliminate Hamas fighters. As to peace, everyone wants peace, but on whose terms? Hamas’ terms for releasing the hostages are an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, leaving their army in control of the territory, ready to regroup and mount another attack in the future. Do you think Israel should accept peace on these terms? |
