Caroline I greatly sympathize with you, I've had this sort of ting for many years. Experience has shown that councils have no power other than to send an investigative officer (if your lucky), who will measure the noise from your house. SO if it happens again & they are called out, then they can take action. However they measure noise intensity and no account is taken of the real problem with loud music, the beat - its very invasive. At least with traffic noise your brain filters it out, not possible with a beat. A bit like water torture, each beat or drip is anticipated so causes stress. I;m amazed the authorities have never learned to take this very important factor into account. An alternative is to call the police on 101, but they will invariably go you your house first so the offenders will know who called them. Whole generations are growing up insensitive to the needs of others, so the problem will never go away. I find Boots wax earplugs the simplest solution. |
