My sympathies Martyn.  I have a double buggy which is a nightmare at the best of times.  I'm often refused entry to the bus, so I walk most places but when I do have to make either a tube or train journey I find it so stressful.  I slowly make my way down the steps, bumping the children along and apologising to busy rail users.  Then getting back up the steps at Putney takes all my energy.  Often I drop down a few steps because it's so difficult.  It takes me a long time and I'm always very grateful to anybody who stops to help me.  I do feel a little isolated for having two young children in a buggy.
