Now now. I know from a disabled friend that sometimes it really is every metre that counts, and when she wants to go to Waitrose or Next or whichever shops she wants to go to, she has to work out the shortest possible route for her to walk, as 200 metres is her limit before she has to sit down and take a rest. (Before you go there, she has a stick with a seat and she's only 32). If she had to add on the distance (for example) from where the current side entrance is externally to where it is internally then she might say I can't do any other shops today, just Waitrose. So for some people life is much more complicated, and distance does count. No one said anything about people with disablities never being able to go into any shops. That's just getting silly....... |
