| Or May from Cameron. Or Sunak from Truss (after he came second to her in the membership vote). The constitution allows parliament to select the PM - he/she just needs to be able to command a majority there. Where there might be an issue is if he diverges too far from the Labour manifesto. Truss deviated massively from the last Tory manifesto (Boris's). But it was her party, not the country, that turfed her out. |
