Mr Carter

'usual moaners/naysayers/right wing "experts" here'

Welcome back !

How nice it is to know that a 'usual left wing moaner and naysayer' (regarding antisemitism and the existential threats by Islamists towards Jews and the state of Isreal) and 'expert' on the state of the Middle East conflict (at least from an antisemitic perspective) has been enthused by Burnham's ascendancy to the role of PM sufficient to reappear on this Forum.

I understand from the Guardian - "Andy Burnham apologises for Labour’s stance on Gaza and says it ‘didn’t get it right’

PM-in-waiting says party must ‘do better’ in approach to Middle East and he will put more pressure on Israel'".

Luckily his predecessor announced more than £250m over three years to increase police protection for Jewish communities in England and Wales which was welcomed by Jewish community leaders.

"The government’s announcement of more than £250m over three years to protect Jewish communities in England and Wales is therefore welcome. Communal leaders have recognised the difference it can make after the murders at Heaton Park synagogue, the stabbings in Golders Green and repeated attacks on Jewish people and institutions. The Community Security Trust said it had come “not a moment too soon”.

Still it's worrying that Burnham's statement has caused you to creep out from under the woodwork.
