| @AM 13.05 Indeed. What is really hacking me off is because of the devious tactical machinations of Labour MPs, Burnham has been effectively parachuted into Westminster, purely on the back of 24,927 people who voted for him in Makerfield. Whether there is a Labour coronation or a contest Burnham is odds-on to become the next PM and that is not acceptable to me. So, as it stands our next PM could well be determined by a handful of voters in the North East. That is not democracy! The highest executive (political) office in the UK (Prime Minister) should be elected by all who are entitled to vote so in my opinion this is a clear case for an early GE. |
