| https://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/rubbish-and-recycling/your-weekly-collections/how-to-leave-your-rubbish-and-recycling-out/#What_not_to_put_in_your_bins Paper other than some types eg tissues, wipes, kitchen roll and oily/food encrusted paper and cardboard, plastic lined coffee cups can usually be recycled. Perhaps they feel that what you have binned should be in the recycling? A note on your bin from the contractors or an email to the Councillor who has this portfolio should help. The article on the front page shows some new things that can go in the recycling. Work has been done to make some more packaging eg toothpaste tubes recyclable. Councils tend to forget to tell you that: All packaging should be empty!! I usually find there's still a week's worth of toothpaste in the tube if you put it on a basin worktop and run a toothbrush handle at rightangles from bottom to top of tube. People who insist on squeezing tubes from the top which can mean a lot of waste drive me mad! The dentist told me we should be using a pea-sized amount of toothpaste rather than an amount the whole length of the bristle end (as sometimes seen in adverts). |
